Instructions

• Connect yarn

  • Choose 2 or more pieces of yarn and combine them to make a twist, a braid, or any other pattern you'd like through knotting or however you'd like to combine the yarn

    • Be sure to tie the ends of your creation so that it doesn't unravel

• Hang your yarn creation inside the box

  • You can hang it and let it drape anywhere you'd like or connect it with another yarn creation that is already installed inside the box

    • Just don't leave it on the ground to be stepped on

And that's it! You've just participated in a community installation that shows the idea of the word, “sonder.”

Statement before the installation began:

“I'm hoping that members of the community will visit the Green Box and participate in braiding yarn and connecting it with other yarn creations that have been installed by previous individuals that have visited the Green Box. I'm excited to see this idea manifest through different perspectives of people living in and passing through Garden City.”
